Artwork Guidelines

Your Guide to Smooth Artwork & Ordering Process

If you've partnered with us before, you know our commitment to timely deliveries!  However, in order to deliver as promised, proper communication and accurate files are crucial in steering clear of errors or delays.

If you are supplying your own artwork, we're here to make your experience seamless. To streamline the process, we've crafted a checklist! This helps us breeze through the artwork process, avoiding the hassle of constant back-and-forths for adjustments so your artwork will print correctly!

By the way, you can always request an artwork check before placing your order and if you’re not sure order sample(s) to ensure you’re happy with the end result!

No bleeds, crop marks, or extra fuss needed. We've got the rest covered!

 Artwork Format:

  • Preferred formats:
    • .AI
    • .EPS
    • High Quality .PDF
    • MAKE SURE ART FILE IS TO PRINT SIZE FOR BEST RESOLUTION.
  • Supply CMYK files. Try not to use RGB colors becuase they will have variations when printed.
  • Convert/Outline all fonts--this will ensure there are no changes to the fonts when we open the file.
  • Separate each print file- 1 design per page

Sizing

  • ENSURE THAT ALL ARTWORK IS AT THE CORRECT SIZE. Ex: 24"x36" canvas print needs to be created originally in that size. Upscaling or enlarging small canvas size to print bigger can cause pixilated/blurry images.

Image Quality:

The quality of your images is a very important factor, we are only capable of reproducing the quality you provide.

  • Ensure all images are saved as CMYK, not RGB.
  • Ensure images are at least 300dpiIf it looks pixelated on your screen at 100%, then it will print pixelated too.
  • Avoid blowing up any images past 100% to prevent pixelation.

 Colors and Matching:

  • Convert all RGB colors to CMYK.
  • Expect a potential 10% color variance from proof to final product.
  • Please anticipate a color difference between your screen and print.  When printing in CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black), various factors will affect the color. Every screen is different and every printer prints color differently. We calibrate often to minimize color variation. However, complete consistency isn't guaranteed, this is simply the nature of printing in CMYK.

 Printing White Ink:

For our designers, please spot color white prints.

While we can potentially adjust files for white printing, addressing this beforehand helps avoid delays.

  • Specify areas for white ink as a SPOT COLOR labeled RGD_WHITE
  • Ensure all artwork is in vector format (not bitmapped/raster images). Failure to do so may affect white ink quality.
